Passé Composé Passif

The passé composé passif (passive voice in the past tense) in French is used to express that an action was done to the subject in the past. It's formed using the passé composé of être + past participle of the main verb, with agreement in gender and number.

Subject + avoir (in present) + été + past participle (agrees with subject)

Subject + a été / ont été + past participle (with agreement) + par + agent
